10 Things we Learned in Aruba (the Easy Way & the Hard Way)

- The best grocery store is Ling & Sons. We prefer it over Super Food because they have more items we find in the US.
- Avoid buying groceries on a Saturday.
- Take a nice sturdy bag to the grocery store. They don’t give them out.
- The Byrd scooters cannot cross the highway. (They actually shut off! We learned that the hard and very HOT way.)

5. Definitely buy your alcohol at the airport duty free store. Purchase over the limit and pay the taxes. It is cheaper than any other liquor store we found.
6. Find a driver and use them consistently. Know the rates. We have the number of a GREAT reliable driver. He even got us Tito’s Vodka for a reasonable rate!
7. World’s best tap water. The water is drinkable and very good.
8. Wear sunscreen! And reapply often.
9. September is much less busy. We made reservations but didn’t need to.

10. Aruba Ariba is the signature tropical drink. It’s fruity with vodka and rum, and crème de banana. It is served EVERYWHERE on the island.
