Hold On, Dogs — Here’s the Thing…

Getting an electric dog fence? Turns out, it’s a whole process. More than we expected,
honestly.

We thought it would be a one-and-done kind of day — they show up, bury a wire, hand
over some collars, and boom — freedom for the dogs. Nope. There’s a lot more to it
(and a lot of beeping involved).

We used a company out of Fort Wayne called Invisible Fence, after pricing out a few
others. They offered the best set-up rate for our three-collar situation — and with three
dogs, that matters!

The installation happens in stages. They come out multiple times, and part of it involves
placing special equipment inside the house to help start the training process. It’s kind of
fascinating to see how it all works, but also a little overwhelming at first.

This is Part One of the journey — the prep and setup phase. Stay tuned for Part Two,
when the dogs start learning their new boundaries (and we learn a few things too).
